nature & connection

About Catherine

My love for horses began the moment I first saw one as a toddler, sparking a lifelong connection to these incredible animals. Over the years, horses have been a constant source of strength and healing for me, helping me navigate some of life’s most challenging moments; divorce, breast cancer, the loss of my father, and, more recently, the discovery that I have ADHD.

This deep bond with horses, combined with my training as an NLP Coach and a certified Equine Facilitation Practitioner, inspired me to create The Mindful Yard CIC. Based in the beautiful Bedfordshire countryside, The Mindful Yard is a safe, nurturing space where women can reconnect with themselves and find balance through nature, horses, and holistic support.

I am passionate about supporting women facing pivotal life transitions, as I know how transformative it can be to feel truly seen, heard, and supported. Alongside this, I am eager to work with schools, offering students a unique opportunity to process challenges and build resilience through meaningful interactions with horses.

I also work with young people aged 11 and over, supporting them as they navigate the challenges of ADHD, anxiety, school pressures, and the emotional shifts that come with hormonal changes.

Whether you are seeking solace, clarity, or simply a chance to rediscover your sense of self, I invite you to join me at The Mindful Yard and experience the healing power of nature and connection.

SERVICES

The Mindful Yard CIC provides a calm, non‑judgemental environment where neurodivergent young people can slow down, feel safe, and reconnect with themselves. Through Equine‑Assisted Learning and gentle interaction with our horses and animals, we help individuals manage anxiety, regulate emotions, and build confidence in a natural, grounding outdoor space designed to reduce pressure and support wellbeing.

SOUND BATHS

Experience deep relaxation where the soothing vibrations of gongs and crystal bowls melt away stress and tension. These healing frequencies calm the mind, promote better sleep and restore balance, leaving you feeling refreshed, clear, and at peace.

I offer one-to-one sessions, private group celebrations, and monthly group sound baths for relaxation and healing.

EQUINE-ASSISTED SERVICES

In the presence of horses, many women find a rare sense of calm and acceptance. Our equine‑assisted sessions support those navigating breast cancer, menopause, ADHD, and other life transitions, helping you strengthen resilience, reduce stress, and reconnect with your inner clarity. No prior horse experience is required — just the courage to step into a space created entirely for your wellbeing.

Reiki

Reiki is a gentle, hands-on (or hands-just-above) energy therapy that originated in Japan. The word itself means something like "universal life energy" — the idea that energy flows through and around all of us, and that it can become blocked or depleted by stress, illness, grief, or simply the pace of daily life.

FEEDBACK FROM LOYAL CLIENTS

“ My daughter has been visiting The Mindful Yard for therapy sessions with Catherine, and I can honestly say it’s been such a positive experience.

As a child with autism, connecting and opening up to new people can sometimes be a real challenge. But from the very first session, Catherine made her feel safe, seen, and understood. She has such a gentle and intuitive way of working, and my daughter looks forward to every visit."
